Lent becomes an adventure for me at dinner time. Not that I mind, in fact if it were up to me we'd eat meatless twice a week. But my son, my darling adorable 9 year old is incredibly difficult to feed. He eats meat, pasta, rice, corn and junk food. Ok that's an oversimplification. He also eats tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, bananas, grapes, melons, and yogurt without bits. Crackers, chips and cheese are also on the ok list, in fact they're on the preferred list.
I know that children aren't included in the meatless fast during Lent but I'm not cooking separate dinners for 5 people. Besides my mom and dad always fed us what they ate (unless we were out to dinner). So, cheers to inflicting it on another generation.
Not that you needed to know all of that, but I can't wait to for dinner tonight. Should be an adventure. He'll hate it. On the menu tonight we have Pasta e Fagiole & Green Salad. Good luck Jer. Oh well, tomorrow is Chicken Casserole, he'll be happier.
